Topics I've Started
15 October 2012 - 07:22 AMThe above topic pretty much says it all. While this is currently the top entry in the Pit news scroll section on the main page, once I create the actual "Walking Dead" section itself, all new reviews for Season 3 will be linked there and will not appear on the news scroll as site updates. In the meantime, you can read the review for the Season 3 premiere episode "Seed" at the link below:
27 August 2012 - 07:03 AMNot to be self-aggrandizing, since I've been scarce from the board for a while. But with Tropical Storm Isaac heading smack-dab my way, unless it weakens or changes its course, there's a chance I'll be offline for a bit. Rather than wishing it changes its course (which would just put other people in danger), I'd rather that it just weaken and dissipate.
A few of you here still remember the "Where's Petch?" threads from the post-Hurricane Katrina days seven years ago. I'll try to keep you briefed if things get really bad. Meanwhile, carry on, and discuss horror movies!
25 July 2012 - 08:18 AMOur great friend and contributor Royce Freeman has just submitted a rough cut of his upcoming movie Rapture for review. It's a pretty hard-hitting yarn, and one that I think will be well-received once it gets it proper release. In the meantime:
This is one independent film that deserves to make it.
14 July 2012 - 04:30 AMHappy Friday The 13th, one and all. Sorry for lack of updates lately, but hopefully this will make up for lost time. The AMC cable network has just posted a four-minute trailer for the upcoming third season of the celebrated zombie apocalypse series The Walking Dead. Get your first look at Michonne and The Governor, plus other tantalizing tidbits. You can view the trailer at the below link:
21 May 2012 - 08:33 AMI know this isn't exactly genre-related news, but it is celebrity news, and since I'm a lifelong Bee Gees fan, I think it's relevant enough.
Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees has died at age 62 following a long struggle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his twin brother Maurice Gibb in 2003 from complications following abdominal surgery. Moroever, younger brother Andy Gibb, a successful solo artist in his own right, died very young of heart failure in 1988.
Eldest brother Barry Gibb remains the only surviving member of the Bee Gees. Our prayers and best wishes go out to Robin's family plus Barry and all of the extended Gibb family and loved ones during this time of terrible loss.
