mask maker is a great new slasher i think and some people thought it lookd stupid in the trailer but let me tell you it is not.
you get michael berryman and icon actor terry kiser i it and you get jonathan breck who played the creeper in jeepers creepers as the new masked killer in maak maker. his character is kind of like leatherface where he where a human flesh but the cool thing is every tim he kills some one almst he puts that person fac on his
the speacial effects are done by blane granstaff, great job by him ad the kills were good as well wont give up the ending but of course a sequel will probably happen by the way it was done
cool that johnathan breck was playing the role of the killer he did a great job

This one is in my Netflix queue! I'll have to bump it to the top. Plus, JB is now working on JC 3 slated to come out in 2013.

We just watched Mask Maker and thought it was pretty good. It has a TCM, F-13 & Halloween feeling to it. Only let down for me was the end of the movie, thought it was kinda stupid.

Is it retro style slasher or picks up on new ones with lot of torture porn scenario?
Maybe it is just me, but that torture porn bores the #bip# out of me. In general I avoid new slashers because of that. I am sick and tired of watching some guy torture some girl (who I don't give a shit about since she is undeveloped character) for almost half a movie (khmm... Hills Run Red, Orphan Killer... khmm). Just give me "old school" slasher with high body count and good chase scenes.

It's a retro style slasher. They did copy alot from the movies I mentioned above, especially TCM & F13-Part 2.
