January is a dump month for movies that the studio knows will fail. It was originally supposed to come out in October, but the suits didn't have enough faith in it to do well despite the proximity to Halloween. There are some recent exceptions to that (The Devil Inside, Cloverfield), but the rest of the time, don't count on huge numbers.
It's a trap!

January's definitely a bad month for me. My father's anniversary on the day he died is on that month. I know I will not be able to enjoy the movie. They should have stuck with October, I would've enjoyed it then.

The teaser poster looks pretty sweet though. I know January's usually a dumping ground but I'll withhold judgment till it's out. And the R rating is for "strong grisly violence throughout". I'm sold!

At first it was gonna just be called "Chainsaw 3D" no Texas or Massacre in the title.

I'm still confused about this movie. They say it's a direct follow up to the original TCM, but set in present day? how does this work?

Leatherface and his family never got caught. Reports of missing people in the surrounding Dallas Fort Worth area where the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre took place. The Sawyer family went into hiding and haven't been seen since.

A few occurrences have happened but no arrests have been made. Bits and pieces of bodies were discovered, leading to foul play, yet the rest of the bodies were never discovered.

This could be what might of happened.

Yes, but in 1974 Leatherface was about 30, in present day he would be 70 years old... it makes no sense to me lol.

One or two things could happen, they could make it a reboot which would be a slap to one of the most iconic and frightening movies back then, and destroy all of our hopes and expectations, or it could be one of the greatest films, despite the storyline. What I mean by this is, it could go one or two ways I may be wrong and I'm not afraid to admit that but, it could either be a copycat killer or the legacy of the Sawyer family has survived somehow and someway. Perhaps Leatherface died, but in order to make sure his legacy went on, a little incest or rape would have been committed and he decided to father a child, as depraved as that sounds I think it would be a logical way to continue the infamous Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

All speculations are now open...

Or we could wait until the movie comes out, but still it would be cool to hear everyone's theory on this. I have the Italian poster shirt of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and I have been asked by two people who think this movie was based on a true story. My neighbor thinks it actually happened, so did a fellow bus rider.

I was tired of explaining and just said "Yeah, Leatherface is real and he's still out there."

Oh yeah, alot of people still think that Leatherface and the TCM was real. Pisses me off when I tell them no it's not, and they tell me yes it is.... ok whatever dickhead lol.
