OK, the opening scene is basically a rip off of Jaws. Terrible movie, and the sharks looked awful.

Going with a PG-13 rating was also a dumb move.

I don't think it would have matter what rating it was giving, just a bad move all round.

Thought it was better than Piranha 3D. At least the story was better. The fx were shit but they were probably meant to be. As soon as the opening credits rolled, I knew what kind of movie I was in for.

Piranha 3D works so well because it doesn't take itself seriously.

I can't put my finger on it to be honest, Craig. I guess there is just so much over the top I can take.

I honestly thought that Piranha 3D was pretty damn good myself... looking forward to seeing the next one.

I haven't seen 3D version, just regular. Tickets for 3D cost nearly double, and I had no intention to give that much money for a movie that is "hit or miss".

Yeah, that's the worst thing about seeing any movie in 3D at the cinema... it cost to damn much.

Amen. Luckily I have some discount as student. It's minimal, but it's still a discount (usually 10-15% depending on which theater I go to)

TBH, there's a lot of movies we want to see in 3D, but we can't afford the price for two tickets.

Almost rented this one. Glad I didn't now. Sounds like a bad SyFy movie or other direct to video crap.

SyFy can have ok flicks sometimes. Burning Bright was one of them (about killer tiger). CGI was great, which was a surprise for SyFy movie. Tiger looks very real in most of the scenes (in some, it's obvious CGI)... and Briana Evigan carried the whole movie, literally.

I agree, Jack. Some SyFy movies are actually pretty good.

I read about a new straight to video shark movie called...."2 HEADED SHARK ATTACK". I think the shark attack movies have run their course now they are coming up with mutant 2 headed sharks.
