Paranormal activity 3 Anyone see it?

I rented a few movies in the past couple weeks and this was one of them. Usually these types of movies don't get me but this particular one does.
It was creepy. Great action shots and just scary enough to get me jumping.
This is the only type of this movie that i get the willies from. I liked it. Makes you jump and gets you at the right moments. didn't expect the ending like that but i liked it. Anyone else rent it yet?

I saw it at the theater. I thought it was pretty cool but most people hated it.

First one bored me, so I stay away from other two. Heard 3rd was better then the first two, but still... I can live long enough without watching those two... :badgrin:

Thought it was good, pretty much the same as the first two.

Loved the first one. Thought 2 was okay and hated the third. When they start incorporating the cheap Hollywood false scare scenes, that's when you know it's time to quit the franchise. Not only that, but I actually laughed during the movie at the thought of this particular family liking to film things which so happens to go back generations. :rolleyes:

That's right. Personally, I preferred it when it didn't have a back story like in the original.

as i said many times, background origin is terrible thing for horror. Look what they have done to poor Hannibal Lector and Michael Myers! No background story makes them absolute, background story just makes them silly.

however I like origin of Freddy for example, but only in original movie, which was very short story (child killer, parents burned him). In part 3, origin were too comic-book for me... (son of a 1000 maniacs, his mother, blah blah... are you kidding me???)

I totally agree, Jack. When they gave Hannibal Lector a background story, it put me right off. Same with RZ's Halloween remake, why he gave Michael Myers a background story I'll never know... it wasn't needed at all.

Well, Halloween remake was originally written as prequel to Carpenter's movie, but I guess Rob Zombie or studio decided to make it half prequel, half remake...

but Hannibal Rising... that one I will never understand. They ruined his character for me. :chair:

I read Hannibal Rising it was like reading a movie script. I think the movie was filming right after the book was released. Both were hurried and not the usual Thomas Harris quality for Lecter. Silence rocked, Hannibal was ok until the end when they completely changed the ending from the book, and thought Red Dragon was great.
