I know this will anger some of you, and some of you will agree... But Please everyone!!! Let the man do his job, and do what he set out to do.
Would you really even feel like doing anything for the event if you were in John's shoes right now?
He has fought so hard for this convention, and is still trying to preserve August, to the point were we could at least have a preview... if you will, of what we WILL be attending next May.
Just please guys, let him do his job. The more he is threatened, and just plain badgered on everything he does past and present. the less he is going to feel like making this the best it can be. I thoroughly believe that John is going to make this great. Just hang in and believe.

I'll chime in here. I have been personal friends with John since 2003 and have driven a nine-hour trek to Dallas many times to visit him and his family during our friendship. At all three Fear Fests that have happened thus far, I've witnessed him busting his tail running back and forth trying to coordinate the operation when unpredictable factors would occur. He is not some "shady" promoter looking to take your money.
I realize that to those who have bought tickets for this event (or have observed this unfortunate situation from message board posts), it's not unreasonable for people who do not know John to assume that he is attempting to engage in fraud. I am willing to go on record, under my name and not an internet handle, that this is simply untrue. And by "under my name" I don't mean to sound full of myself at all. I'm no one special. I occasionally write reviews for Pit Of Horror and do some site updates. I gain no monetary profit from Fear Fest, and in fact pay for my own hotel room and transportation costs out of my own pocket every time.
But it's still my name and not an online nick, and I am willing to go to bat for my friend John Gray who, however well-meaning the accusers may be, is being erroneously condemned in this matter. And I do this at the expense of probably having my name dragged through the mud by some of the more virulent accusers who can't seem to stop copy/pasting everything that's posted on Guts And Gory on this topic, and then ridiculing John's defenders. I have always stayed out of online "board wars," but this time I'm making an exception. John Gray is trying to put on a fantastic show for fans of the Friday The 13th series, and he's not a crook. I stake my own name and reputation, however miniscule it may be in the online horror community, with that statement.
I'm under no illusion that my post here will suddenly "clear the air." A lot of people have spent money on tickets, travel and lodging, and from that perspective, may justifiably feel as though they have been misled and cheated. But I do ask that those who doubt John's integrity would suspend that doubt while he works to sort out the complex issues that this situation has created.

I'll back John up as well. He has never done me wrong and I have no doubt that he will make this right for everyone. If you want to badger and bitch at someone then turn your anger towards the bastard that sabotaged this event while John works everything out! This cowardly bitch is sitting back and laughing at all of us knowing that he caused this shit! Don't let that fucker off the hook, you all know who he is!

Thanks to everyone for vouching for my personal character... anyone that knows me personally or even online for the most part knows the truth. I'm sure there is plenty of trash talk going on at the "other" forums, but I'm not even bothering to read them nor respond. Those guys hate me regardless of what the hell I do... nevermind the fact that none of them have actually been to one of our shows. Makes them feel good about themselves I suppose?
