There have to be others in the same boat as me - trip booked already. Maybe if enough of us chime in, John can still put somethin' together for us? "Oh...no...we have no suits...."

So, I still have $700 in non-refundable plane tickets and there is no Con. Our jobs don't allow us to vacation much outside of the summer. So Dallas it is. If anyone local has suggestions of places, theaters, resturants, bars or whatever. It would be much appreciated. Thanks |

Flying saucer is a great bar in addison. over 200 different brews. Six Flags is a great amusement park in Irving. AS for theaters Studio Movie Grill is a great place to grab a beer and burger and watch a flick. There is also Texas Ranger or Frisco Rough Rider games to check out. |

In Arlington which is 30 to 45 min from Dallas, there is Six Flags, Hurrican Harbor (aka:Wet N Wild) The Rangers Ballpark, Dave & Busters, lots of bars and live band entertainment. Dallas has great local bands that usually play in Deep Ellum in Dallas. It's 3 streets of nothing but clubs and bars. The Grand Prix in dallas is a club/bar with go carts and race tracks. Grand Prairie (between Dallas and Arlington) has the Lone Star Race Track and next to it is Ripley's House of Wax. The Mayhem Festival is on the 13th so that's an idea. Hope this helps. I'll post if I can find anything else. "Rose are red, violets are black, you would look better with a knife in your back.." www.myspace.com/bathory1313

Yeah we had already planned to go to the rodeo. We're also going to check out a concert at Billy Bob's at the Ft. Worth Stockyards. Go on a train ride, go to Six Flags. There's right much to do. |

Hey guys! I've decided NOT to go to Dallas and use my non-refundable plane ticket for some other trip. I have until 04/14/2011 to decide where I'd like to go. There were no penalty or change fees with Southwest Airlines--but if I don't use the ticket, I will lose the money. For those of you who are stuck in Texas, and if you can change your current hotel reservations, I was going to stay at the Candlewood Suites on 13939 Noel Rd, Dallas, TX, 75240. This hotel is close to the Galleria Mall and the Crowne Plaza where the convention was going to be, and all suites have DVD players in the rooms. The room rates are inexpensive, and you all could bring your "Friday the 13th" DVD's and have your own marathon! (Message edited by scottarooni on July 23, 2010) |
