I refuse to let this get me down. I imagine that my boys & I are not alone with havin' set plans for attendin' this event that cannot be changed. I have time scheduled off from work, airfare & hotel bookings, & a car rented. We will be in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for the nights of the 12th thru the 15th. Now it appears that we need something to do, so let's get together! Who else will be there that would like to hang & do whatever?

Read my other post - in short, there's a triple-feature of parts 1-3, including 3 in 3-D, going on in San Antonio. It's a 4+ hour drive, but for a F13 fan, totally worth it. |

Hey AJ - thanks - I'm definitely gonna look into that. I still say we all still try to get together at this Sneaky Pete's or somethin'. I also think that John could try to do his best to do right by all of us that have invested our time & money into this. One thought is that he could still show the films at this Studio Movie Grille place. Also, Fear Jam - why can't this still be happening? I am still just baffled at how all this could just fall apart. Weren't there contracts in place with all the venues? All very disconcerting, but like I said, my boys & I'll just have to make our own party.

Indeed. I also think that there's no reason why the films can't be shown @ The Studio Movie Grille. None of this makes much sense to me; it does seem quite fraudulent. What is it that actually "sabotaged" this from happening?

Lots of behind the scenes stuff going on that can't be discussed right now if I'm understanding it correctly. Warrants issued for a certain individuals arrest and death threats have been made. Hell, I dont know bro.

Oh well, at least on May 13th of 2011, I can make it a 10th anniversary party for me and the wife...
But right now, until I hear more, I'm not booking shit about shit for shit. I want the tickets I bought for THIS to count toward the price of tickets for next year.
I'm devastated- this was to be my first ever con, and the only time in about 7 or 8 years I've actually gotten away for a vacation. |

Yeah - I read all that - but I still don't get how that cancels this event. Plus, I'm now suspicious about the disclaimer statin' that only refunds will be given if the show is cancelled completely; that makes the new May date awfully convenient for the people in charge of this show. I think that all of us that've committed to this should just get together & make our own fun!

I hear ye', Josh - same here - this was to be my 1st con. I was very much lookin' forward to meetin' all you like-minded people. That's why I am so wantin' to figure out how we can still all get together. John Gray should be doin' his best to have somethin' set up @ Sneaky Pete's & The Studio Movie Grille @ the very least.

I'm not coming to Texas in August, now. I want the cost of the tickets I already paid for to count for tickets to the May 2011 event. Without this con, I have no reason to come to Texas this year.
I'm super bummed, but maybe having more time to get ready for it next May, I'll be able to stay longer and enjoy the con even more. |

Nice- and hey, let's put some positive spin on this thing! Whether the reason for the delay is suspect or not, I have NO IDEA, but look at it this way, folks:
In May of 2011, the whole thing will be at ONE location, rather than two places 20 miles apart.
It gives us much more time to save that cash for autographs and such.
May in Texas may just be not quite *as hot* as August.
It may allow for schedules for some folks who weren't coming (Mears, Kirzenger, etc.) to be there!
I want to hear more from John- but I want to go to a great con, so I'm just a bit further off from that now. Bummer, but maybe I'll be able to stay longer and have a better time in May.

in dallas there is six flags to be considered.
as well as in San Antonio. SA also has shlitterban and sea world.
i grew up in san antonio, so just let me know the location of that F13 showing and i'll get you more info on the size and such. |

oh yeah. dont' forget the after dark ghost tours. san antonio especially since it's rich in history. across the street is the ripley's believe it or not and the house of wax. some interesting stuff going on. at most hotels you'll see the stacks of brochures of stuff to do. so make sure to go through them. |

Well ...this is a kick in the balls isn't it?I would love to know who the asshole behind this is, and with a little searching and asking, I am sure I will find out, but as far as the show goes, Josh you said it best.Maybe with it being postphoned , we can get back some of the folks that had to cancel as well as grabbing some others that were not on the list.I would like to see Derek and Ken back on the list.
I really do want this show to become a reality in the future so I am still looking forward to it.
And I do like the idea of a one shot con rather than doing all that extra driving to and from.
I was really forward looking forward to meeting all of you and hopefully I still will in may, so until then I will do my other cons and bide my time!!!
This guy must have also gotten in touch with Mosely, cause he wasn't planning to be in Texas next month at all.

Well some of us are still going....
Can't cancel everything now!!!
We should be able to get a refund, we didn't change it, they did!!! We should wait a few days and see what is said, if nothing just do a charge-back on your credit card!..most credit card companies will want to help their customers not the companies who causes us to charge it back to them!

I would love to go to the F13th showing in San Antonio. I called them today and tickets can only be purchased in advance, in person. Not over the phone or online. Since I am arriving in Dallas at 1:30pm and it is a 4 hour drive to San Antonio, that puts me their at 5:30-6:00pm. The screenings start at 8pm..correct? It may be sold out by the time I get their. Too much of a gamble. |
