I think that Shelly's death should have been on screen showing Jason taking the mask from him and putting it on in the barn. It could made into a dramatic moment with a very good kill scene. And the scene where Jason walks out onto the dock would have not changed either. However, I do think that another character's death would have had to have been off screen. So which one? Any suggestions? Mine is having Chuck's death be offscreen.

I agree, they should have had Shelly's death onscreen, since that is a big moment in the series. The first time Jason puts on the mask! Great point Glenda!!

That would've been cool, if right after Jason killed Shelly they showed him dropping tha Patato Sack at his feet, and showed Jason from behind putting on the hockey mask like he did in the beginning of part 6, and they played tha Friday the 13th music to match that seen. That seen would've kicked ass. 
Chris: "NO YOU CAN'T BE ALIVE, IT'S YOU!"
Ali: Yo sucker son you mother, "SWOOSH" Jason turns around and Chops Ali's hand off with machete in barn, Ali screams AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Jason didn't have the potato sack, if you watch part 3 in the beginning, you can sort of tell that Jason is wearing no mask at all. But, if you meant that he should have been wearing it and then changing masks, that would have been cool too.

I agree 100% Brooker Fan, seeing Jason pick up the hockey mask and putting it on for the first time would have been a CLASSIC scene. |

Yes it would have been a very pivotal scene. And a great marketing tool. But alas, Paramount never wanted to capitalize on that. It would have been great to see Jason pick up the mask and put it on then walk out to the dock where he killed Vera.

It would have been funny to see Jason peeking through the window watching Andy and Deb making out!! Jason the Perv!!

I think it was better that they didn't show it happen, because it makes it more effective when Jason walks out onto the deck and Vera thinks it's Shelly at first (before realizing how much taller and thinner Jason is, of course). That scene probably caught some viewers off guard back in 1982. |

but didn't Shelly die in the scene right before?
I liked the potato sack, I wish they at least had it until he switched over to the hockey mask. Jason was probably tired of having to use two sided tape stuck above his eye so he could see out of the hole  |

I completely agree. Becuase Shelly is kind of "annoying" to other guests of Higgins Haven, the audience really wants to see him killed!
As far as the off screen kill goes- Chucks would have been the best to omit--since his death really isn't that gruesome ..especially by Friday The 13th standards! |

If they would have known that the hockey mask would have been his ultimate trademark, they probably would have filmed it like that. |

Well actually Shelly was a good guy, most people cheered Vera's death because she was so mean to him. He owed Jason since Jason killed the bikers for him-so Jason killed him and took the mask. I just think that it would have been very effective.
